Shadow Shot Sunday

It's been a little wet round here.  This is the lake down the end of our road.  Fortunately not too much damage was done and the water has now receded.  Can you see the pelicans in the background? To see some more exceptional shadow shots go to Hey Harriet

Shadow Shot Sunday

A fantastic weekend in the city visiting the kids really gets the juices going when it comes to photographing shadows. I was able to get some beauties! None of the kids though. This photo was taken at Blackwattle Bay in Glebe. Its a lovely walk along the waterfront with the view of the Anzac bridge. Along the walking path were these constructions which I believe were the old storage sheds and incinerator from the 1900's. They were designed by Walter Burley Griffin and operated from 1934 to 1949. I'm sure if you head over to Hey Harriet you'll see some more inspiring photos.

Shadow Shot Sunday Day at the Beach

What a brillant day it was today. An early morning walk down to the beach helped produce this picture. How lucky am I to live in such an inspiring place. The temperature was quite brisk. The surf was quite big too. Such a lovely day. Visit Hey Harriet for some more amazing photo's.

Shadow Shot Sunday Happy Mothers' Day

To all my friends, Happy Mothers Day! I had a quiet but happy mothers day today. My beautiful daughter and her partner came and spent the night and we had a lovely dinner together. Unfortunately my son was unable to come. Breakfast the next morning was cooked by me (of course) eggs benedict, bacon and corn fritters were on the menu, then it was off to the cemetery to see my darling Mum who has missed 12 Mothers'Days now. It doesn't get any easier but it was such a lovely day at the cemetery that people were picnicking on the grounds. Such a beautiful place. Then it was off to some plant nurseries and a quest to find coffee. Unsuccessful. So being Mother's Day it was my pick for the DVD. I picked a soppy love story. Lovely!
My Shadow Shot Sunday was taken at the nursery.

Shadow Shot Sunday

I had a big laugh when I saw this photo. Here's my gorgeous husband trying to set up a photo for my SSS. As you can see he is risking serious injury here, standing on the main road in peak hour is NOT a good idea. Don't know if you can see but he is trying to make out that he is riding the bike. Convincing don't you think? If you'd like to check out more outstanding shadows pop over to Hey Harriet.

Shadow Shot Sunday

We thought we had better walk off some of the good food we have been eating with family and friends over the easter break. I don't mind this photo......we look kinda skinny don't you think???? Wishful thinking what!!

Shadow Shot Sunday Fruit

I nearly nearly missed SSS today. I remembered just in time. This carved wooden bowl is one I "inherited" from my Mum and Dad. The reason I gained it is because I was actually there when it was purchased in New Guinea way back in the '70s. This fruit however, has a not so long life span. Later on tonight I am going to have a go at my very first Passionfruit Souffle. Stay tuned, if it turns out you'll see a photo!

If you'd like to join in go visit Hey Harriet.

Shadow Shot Sunday

Seeing as I take really really bad photos, I thought I'd have a go at this little event that I saw over at E Makes Art It's called (see title) and if you're interested go and visit Hey Harriet and all will be revealed. Its not for bad photographers or anything, it's to (I hope) improve your photography. I need all the help I can get. Here is my first photo. Hope I did good.
